Sunbeth Global Concept Limited is a trading company specializing in the exportation of raw cocoa beans and cashew from Nigeria. Although established in August 2017, the company has deep roots in the cocoa industry as it emanated from Sunny Owoh Ventures Nigeria Limited, a long-standing cocoa sourcing company with over 20 years of business activities in Ondo-State, Nigeria.

Job Summary


  • The Trade Finance Manager will lead the company’s trade finance operations, ensuring the effective management of letters of credit, guarantees, import/export documentation, and banking relationships.
  • This role plays a strategic part in supporting Sunbeth’s local and international trade transactions, optimizing cash flow, and mitigating financial risks.

Job Details

  • Oversee all trade finance operations, including issuance, negotiation, and settlement of Letters of Credit (LC), Standby LCs, Bank Guarantees, and other trade instruments.
  • Manage relationships with local and international banks to secure favorable terms and credit facilities.
  • Liaise with internal departments (procurement, logistics, legal, treasury) and external stakeholders (suppliers, regulatory bodies) to ensure seamless trade execution.
  • Mitigate financial and operational risks associated with cross-border transactions through proactive planning and negotiation.
  • Lead the preparation of trade documentation including shipping documents, customs papers, and financial instruments.
  • Structure trade deals in line with regulatory requirements, banking policies, and company strategy.
  • Monitor trade finance KPIs such as transaction turnaround times, cost efficiency, and compliance adherence.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with international trade rules such as UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms, and local regulatory guidelines (e.g., CBN, NAFEM, SON, Customs).
  • Forecast cash flow needs related to trade transactions and coordinate timely funding and payments.
  • Provide strategic input on trade finance structures that align with business growth and expansion goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA or Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 – 10 years of relevant experience in trade finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Professional certifications such as CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist), CITF (Certificate in International Trade and Finance), ACCA, or ICAN preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade practices, banking instruments, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in oil & gas or commodity trading is highly desirable.
  • Strong command of trade finance systems and ERP platforms.
