Job Description

  • We are seeking a visionary and commercially savvy General Manager to lead our marketing and distribution operations across Nigeria.
  • This role demands an ambitious leader who can scale distribution networks, energize sales teams, and drive market penetration in a highly competitive pharmaceutical space.

Responsibilities
Strategic Sales & Market Expansion:

  • Lead nationwide pharmaceutical product marketing and distribution strategies.
  • Develop partnerships with pharmacies, hospitals, distributors, and government health bodies.
  • Identify and explore new market opportunities across underserved regions.
  • Analyze product performance and provide input for market-driven portfolio expansion.

Distribution & Supply Chain Optimization:

  • Oversee warehousing, logistics, and last-mile delivery to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the production arm (e.g., Nalis Pharmaceuticals) to align stock availability with market demand.
  • Minimize stock-outs, expiries, and logistics costs through proactive planning and system integration.

Performance Management & Reporting:

  • Set and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets by region and product line.
  • Track KPIs across sales reps, territory managers, and distribution partners.
  • Report directly to the Board/Executive Team with business insights and performance reviews.

Regulatory & Ethical Compliance:

  • Ensure full compliance with NAFDAC, PCN, and NDLEA guidelines.
  • Monitor and enforce ethical sales practices and pharmacovigilance standards.
  • Lead audit preparedness and manage documentation related to distribution compliance.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage, coach, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of sales, logistics, and administrative personnel.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and capability building across departments.

KPIs / Success Indicators

  • Territory expansion and market share growth
  • Sales-to-target performance per quarter
  • Reduced stock-out and expiry rates
  • Improved order fulfillment turnaround
  • Staff retention and team productivity
  • Audit pass rates and regulatory standing.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, or Life Sciences (MBA preferred).
  • At least 8 – 10 years in pharmaceutical sales/distribution, with 5+ years in senior management roles.
  • Proven experience managing nationwide or multi-regional pharmaceutical distribution operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigeria’s pharmaceutical market dynamics, regulatory environment, and supply chain challenge.
