Job Position: Mining Engineer - Iron Ore

Job Location: Gujeni, Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking a seasoned Mining Engineer with expertise in iron ore operations to join our team in Kaduna.
• The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mine design, drilling and blasting, beneficiation processes, and operational optimization specific to iron ore extraction and processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement mine plans for iron ore extraction, ensuring optimal recovery and safety
• Conduct geological assessments and feasibility studies for iron ore deposits
• Oversee drilling, blasting, hauling, and beneficiation operations
• Monitor ore quality and collaborate with metallurgists to improve yield and grade
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian mining regulations and environmental standards
• Utilize mine planning software (e.g., Surpac, MineSched) for short- and long-term scheduling
• Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and production forecasts
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and site personnel
• Coordinate with government agencies and stakeholders for permitting and reporting

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 6–10 years of experience in iron ore mining operations
• Proficiency in mine planning and geological modeling software
• Strong understanding of iron ore beneficiation techniques and equipment
• Familiarity with Nigerian mining laws and environmental policies
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
• Ability to work in remote and rugged terrain
