We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Mechanical and Electrical Technician

Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Engineering Manager / Site Director

Job Summary

• The Mechanical and Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Install, inspect, and test equipment such as motors, pumps, generators, HVAC systems, panels, circuit breakers, and conveyors.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty mechanical and electrical components.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all work activities.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams, electrical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Monitor and maintain plant equipment to meet operational and safety standards.
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex issues.
• Report any abnormalities or risks to the supervisor promptly.

Requirements
Education:
Minimum Qualifications:

• National Diploma (ND) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering
• NABTEB (National Business and Technical Examinations Board) Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Trade
• Trade Test I, II, & III in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in a similar role (preferably in manufacturing or industrial plant).

Technical Skills:

• Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to use hand tools, diagnostic tools, and testing equipment
• Basic knowledge of PLC systems and electrical control panels is an added advantage
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
