1.) Storekeeper

Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Storekeeper to join our team at Ovic Hotel. 
  • This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the seamless operation of our hotel by managing inventory, overseeing stock movements, and supporting various departments with timely supply and replenishment. 
  • The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to maintain efficient inventory processes while adhering to the highest standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming goods to ensure they match purchase orders and meet quality standards.
  • Accurately record stock details in inventory management systems, including quantities, batch numbers, and expiry dates (where applicable).
  • Maintain a well-organized storage system, categorizing and labeling items for easy identification and access.
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively generate reorder requests to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with records.
  • Track slow-moving and obsolete items, and recommend actions to minimize waste.

Stock Issuance and Distribution:

  • Process and fulfill approved requisitions from hotel departments (e.g., kitchen, housekeeping, and front office).
  • Ensure timely delivery of items to requesting departments, maintaining proper documentation for stock issuance.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to address urgent supply needs or shortages.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all storage areas comply with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, particularly for perishable goods.
  • Implement and enforce proper stock handling techniques to minimize damage and maintain quality.
  • Maintain proper temperature, ventilation, and storage conditions for different categories of items (e.g., food, cleaning supplies, and maintenance equipment).
  • Regularly review and update the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inventory management.

Reporting and Communication

  • Prepare detailed inventory reports for management, including stock levels, usage trends, and forecasted needs.
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve any issues with deliveries, quality, or returns.
  • Work closely with department heads to understand their inventory needs and plan accordingly.
  • Keep the management informed of any potential risks or delays in inventory processes.

Experience Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in inventory or stock management, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing food and beverage inventory is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with hotel operations and cross-departmental workflows will be an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or similar systems).
  • Organizational Skills:Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical Skills:Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, discrepancies, and inefficiencies in inventory processes.
  • Communication Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication to effectively interact with suppliers, colleagues, and department heads.
  • Physical Stamina:Capability to lift and move stock itemsas required.
  • Problem-Solving:Proactive approach to addressing inventory challenges, including shortages or damaged stock.

Other Requirements

  • Legally eligible to work in Nigeria.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, public holidays, and in shifts when required.
  • Strong understanding of safety, security, and hygiene protocols.
  • Knowledge of local suppliers and sourcing options is a plus.

Salary
N85,000 - N90,000 Monthly.

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and dependable Cook to join the kitchen team at our client hotel in Edo State. 
  • The Cook will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, and ensuring guest satisfaction through excellent food service. 
  • This role is vital in delivering exceptional dining experiences and supporting smooth daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
Meal Preparation & Cooking:

  • Prepare a wide variety of dishes according to hotel menus and guest preferences.
  • Ensure food is cooked safely, efficiently, and in accordance with recipe standards and portion sizes.
  • Maintain high standards of taste, presentation, and consistency in all dishes served.

Quality Control & Food Safety:

  • Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness before preparation.
  • Adhere to hygiene and sanitation guidelines (HACCP or equivalent), ensuring safe food handling and storage.
  • Monitor kitchen cleanliness and ensure all workstations, equipment, and utensils are cleaned and maintained.

Kitchen Operations & Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and serve as support to the Head Chef.
  • Ensure timely delivery of meals during peak hours and events.
  • Assist in planning menus and estimating food requirements.

Inventory Management & Cost Control:

  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies and ingredients.
  • Report low stock levels and assist in controlling food wastage.
  • Help track kitchen inventory and contribute to cost-effective practices.

Guest Interaction & Special Requests:

  • Handle special dietary requests or guest preferences professionally and accurately.
  • Receive feedback through supervisors and continuously strive to improve dish quality and service delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts, Catering, or a related hospitality field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Cook in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
  • Proven knowledge of various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian and continental dishes.
  • Understanding of kitchen safety, hygiene protocols, and food handling regulations.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.

  • This role is essential in ensuring a delightful customer experience and upholding the hotel's reputation for excellence.

Responsibilities
Bartending & Beverage Preparation:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests.
  • Mix cocktails with precision, adhering to recipes and customer preferences.
  • Maintain an extensive knowledge of drink offerings, ingredients, and pairings.

Customer Service:

  • Provide friendly and professional service, engaging with customers to create a positive experience.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Recommend drinks and upsell premium offerings to enhance revenue.

Bar Maintenance & Hygiene:

  • Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.

  • Certification in bartending or hospitality is an advantage.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
