OTL Downstream Development in Africa (OTL Africa) is a Nigerian based pan-African downstream oil and gas initiative.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Head, Communications

Job Location: Nigeria

Summary

  • The person will be responsible for developing and coordinating the initiative’s communication resources and output.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Design the annual communication strategy.
  • Work with the relevant teams to champion the integration of relevant information and marketing campaigns into all relevant communication output.
  • Proactively ensure brand projection across all communication channels and initiatives.
  • Oversee access, upgrades, and security of all ICT interfaces & channels.
  • Leverage and oversee full-scale ICT across communication processes and deliverables.
  • Call periodic team meetings and communicate targets and work plans in line with overall goals.
  • Proactively ensure that inquiries and complaints are promptly and properly redirected and treated.
  • Copy, edit, proofread, and revise communications materials.
  • Coordinate all media engagement.

Requirements

  • First Degree in Media & Communications or any relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Requisite certifications & a postgraduate degree is an advantage.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a similar supervisory role or as a team lead.
  • Knowledge of the workings and policies of energy & petroleum industries in Nigeria & Africa is an added advantage.

Skill set:

  • Knowledge of energy policies in Nigeria.
  • Information-savvy (abreast of current national and global affairs, politics & policies).
  • Publishing and presentation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of digital media navigation and optimization.
  • Ability to build influential relationships and business development.
  • Ability to cost-effectively project manage the team’s initiatives and workload, set priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically, and holistically.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools and other relevant applications.

Language Preference (Not Mandatory):

  • Bi/Multi Lingual (English and French or Portuguese)
