Job Objective

  • To manage, maintain, and optimize the infrastructure of our data center facilities.
  • The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in power or cooling systems, a commitment to operational excellence, and the ability to respond effectively to technical challenges.
  • This role is critical to ensuring uninterrupted operations and the availability of IT infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. This role will include normal day and night shift work.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management:

  • Operate and maintain critical infrastructure systems, including power distribution, cooling systems, cabling, and environmental monitoring.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of infrastructure systems.
  • Monitor the data center environment (temperature, humidity, airflow) to ensure adherence to operational standards.

Preventive and Predictive Maintenance:

  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all data center infrastructure and systems.
  • Identify potential issues through predictive analysis and implement solutions proactively to prevent downtime.
  • Ensure detailed documentation of maintenance activities and updates to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Incident Response and Troubleshooting:

  • Respond swiftly to incidents, diagnosing root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, service providers and OEM suppliers during outages or emergencies to minimize business impact.

Capacity Planning and Upgrades:

  • Assist in capacity planning to support the data center’s current and future needs.
  • Participate in the design, review, and implementation of infrastructure upgrades or expansions.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, local regulations, and best practices (e.g., IEEE, and local electrical codes).
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular safety audits.

Monitoring and Performance Optimization:

  • Utilize Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools to monitor power usage, efficiency, and performance metrics.
  • Implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce power usage effectiveness (PUE).

Vendor and Contractor Management:

  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all data center infrastructure and systems.
  • Review and approve vendor work to ensure compliance with standards and quality expectations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical systems within data centers, industrial environments, or critical infrastructure facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure systems, including power, cooling, and cabling.
  • Familiarity with key tools and software, such as access management, ticketing systems and DCIM platforms.

Preferred Skills and Certifications:

  • Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) or Certified Data Center Specialist (CDCS).
  • Certifications in electrical or HVAC systems or other relevant certifications.
  • Familiarity with Generators, UPS or HVAC technologies and their maintenance.
  • Knowledge of safety standards like OSHA 85.
