Contract: Full-time, relocation with visa sponsorship

The Role

As a Breakdown / Service Technician, you ensure the reliability of high-speed food production lines operating 24/7. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults, perform preventive maintenance, and implement improvements to reduce downtime. Working in a demanding food production environment, you will collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to maintain efficiency, safety, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on high-speed food production lines and installations.
• Implement emergency measures to minimize downtime.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and condition monitoring.
• Collaborate with colleagues in production, engineering, and technical teams.
• Apply and enforce food safety standards (HACCP, BRC).
• Document breakdowns, maintenance activities, and safety incidents.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking skilled breakdown technicians who have hands-on experience specifically in food production. You are:

• Calm and effective during urgent breakdowns.
• Quality- and safety-conscious.
• A team player with clear English communication.
• Proactive and disciplined for shift-based work.

Must-Have Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of proven troubleshooting and fault-repair experience in food production lines.
• Completed ND, HND, or B.Eng/B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of HACCP and BRC standards (or ability to learn quickly).
• Ability to work in a 5-shift rotation system (24/7 operations).
• Valid passport and readiness to relocate within 12 weeks.

Must-Have Skills

Electrical

• Read and interpret electrical diagrams
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machines (basic fault finding)
• Work with sensors, relays, actuators, and circuit protection
• Use multimeters and electrical testing equipment
• Rewire/replace switches, contactors, and fuses
• Knowledge of three-phase systems and motors

Mechanical

• Repair and alignment of belts, chains, gears, and bearings
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Basic welding, fabrication, and fitting
• Lubrication and preventive servicing
• Replace worn/damaged mechanical components

Maintenance & Reliability

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks
• Conduct root cause analysis of breakdowns
• Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
• Condition monitoring (temperature, vibration, noise)
• Apply TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles

Safety & Quality

• HACCP and BRC standards compliance
• Apply lockout-tagout (LOTO) and industrial safety procedures
• Identify and correct workplace hazards
• Report/document safety incidents accurately
• Consistent PPE use

Soft Skills

• Calm under pressure in breakdowns
• Clear English communication (spoken and written)
• Team collaboration with production/engineering
• Proactive problem-solver, disciplined for 5-shift work

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Additional experience in FMCG or chemical industries.
• Industrial safety certifications (NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent).
• EU Category B driving licence (internationally valid).
• Basic IT literacy (Excel, Word, reporting software).
