Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our faith-based organization.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

Managing the financial operations and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. This role requires someone with a strong commitment to our mission and values, and a passion for using their financial expertise to support our ministry work.

Key Responsibilities:

•Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger.

•Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

*Monitor and report on the organization’s financial performance and budget.

*Oversee payroll, tax filings, and ensure timely payments.

*Assist in budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis.

*Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, donor restrictions, and reporting requirements.

Collaborate with leadership of the organization to provide financial insights and recommendations.

Manage donor contributions, grants, tithes, offerings and restricted funds.

Prepare and present financial reports for board meetings.

Maintain and update accounting records and systems.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field.

Professional certification is an added advantage

Minimum of 6years of accounting experience, preferably in non-profit or faith-based settings.

Strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles, including fund accounting and donor-restricted funds.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial data.

A commitment to the mission and values of the organization.

Experience with grant management and financial reporting is an advantage.
